Gahnite Spinel was created approximately 50,50 years ago to comfort the bereaved Blue Diamond following Pink Diamond's supposed shattering.

Finding that she was unable to console Blue Diamond in her grief, she was poofed by Yellow Diamond in a fit of rage at her uselessness and inability to distract Blue Diamond.

After being bubbled for thousands of years, she was released sometime after the events of Steven Universe: The Movie and reformed into her current form.

Bitter at being discarded, she learned of Pink Diamond's supposed new form, Steven, and went to Earth to exact her revenge upon Steven for Pink Diamond faking her shattering and causing her creation in the first place, but was quickly whisked off to Little Homeworld and given an opportunity to find an identity beyond the one she felt she'd failed at.

She is now an artist alongside Blue Pearl on Homeworld.

Appearance

Current

Gahnite Spinel has a blue complexion, a small, pointy nose, and Swamp Blue hair that is styled with upward-swooping bangs and a similar tuft in the back. She also has dark circles underneath her eyes leading into sharp, dripping mascara-like points at te corners. Her clothing consists of a dark blue tailcoat, with sleeves a lighter blue on the undersides and a broken heart-shaped clasp, dark teal pants that with lighter teal points near the ankles, and dark blue pointy boots.

Her gemstone, located in the crook of her left arm, is hidden by her sleeve.

Previous

When first formed, Gahnite Spinel had a generally more lighthearted appearance, her outfit mirroring that of a court jester and reflecting her given purpose. She had wider, more cartoonish pupils, with two eyelashes on each eye, and her hair was styled into a rounded version of her current style loosely resembling hearts. Her outfit was more intricate, featuring a shirt with a diamond pattern and puffy, frilly sleeves, a star-shaped neck ruff with a bell on each point, thigh-high socks with a diamond on each knee, and rounded shoes with bells on top. The colors of her outfit are mismatched, but consistently blue in color.

Her gemstone was visible, heart-shaped and featuring a simple diamond-shaped facet.

Personality

Gahnite Spinel originally had a bubbly, bouncy personality, but her attempts to entertain and make others laugh frequently fell short and went so far as to annoying the people around her.
